Welcome to The Flight of The Hopper website, an internet project devoted to the unique marriage of flight simulation and beer. The Hopper is a simulated aircraft on a simulated journey whose real crew consumes real brewed beverages from around the world. Intrigued, or just plain puzzled? For more information, read about our mission.

We Are Here: Tunis, Tunisia

Let the adventure begin! The Hopper has reached the African continent with all the beer that could be loaded into her belly. Beer here is scarce, but the crew will make due with the collection of brews that they've stored away for just such an occasion.

The journey begins here in Tunisia with plans to progress counterclockwise around the continent, testing the long-legs of the Pilatus in order to make it home before FSX is released. That means some looooong flights are on the horizon. Stay tuned!

Next Hop: Casablanca, Morocco

Next Beer: Belzebuth

January 20, 2006 - Dogfish schmogfish, you say? Well, the crew is admittedly smitten with the American brewery, but with good damn reason. Check out the review of DFH's "OLde School" barleywine ale and it's Earthshattering 15% alcohol content. Bottoms up!

January 10, 2006 - La Rossa is a surprising Mediterreanean treat, bringing back the plesant memories of Skullsplitter and bringing hope to the crew that there is some really, really good beer in Italy. Read about it here...
January 2, 2006 - Peroni Nastro Azzurro must translate into "Peroni's Nasty Ass Beer." This beer ranks among the worst beers we've encountered. Smells like it came out of an algae basin. It gets worse here...
January 1, 2006 - GB's main New Year's resolution (according to us) is to be more punctual with his writings. Here's a long overdue review of Tilburg Brown Ale - yes, that's from HOLLAND, you sloth!
January 1, 2006 - The Crew is now employing the intense weather effects and dynamics provided by Active Sky 6! The awesome add-on gives us a big upgrade from the default MSFS WX generator with more realistic cloud layering, turbulence effects and improved hazing. If you are intense about your weather realism, you should read our review of Active Sky 6 out here...
December 22, 2005 - Sorta like the nice girl whose friends are all supermodels. Don't get us wrong - Kwak is a good beer anywhere else. In Belgium, though, it is but a wallflower...
